The cottage is set in the "World Heritage Status" Derwent Valley, facing the village green and children's play areas. At the back is open countryside. Footpaths lead up the hill to Riber Castle and down to Matlock and the 100ft waterfall in the ruins of Arkwrights Mill. The attractions of Gulliver's Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham cable cars are just over 2 miles away while Chatsworth, Alton Towers, the Blue John Mines (underground boat trips), cycle trails and Carsington Water are all within easy reach.
